Coastival 2014

Coastival 2014 took place over the Valentine weekend in February and included Orpheus the Mariner, a huge performance featuring giant puppets that included a record attempt for the largest puppet in the world by Animated Objects Theatre Company and the local community.  There was a fantastic programme focused around 2014’s chosen theme of movement, which featured music, theatre, arts, dance and entertainment for children. Coastival 2014 included 100 events, 80 of them free, that was spread over three fun-packed days.

Music included the Brand New Heavies, Yorkshire jazz favourite Clare Teal, and “The Lock in Dance Show” - a unique mix of folk and hip-hop, set in a traditional English pub that featued the Demon Barbers.
